About This Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Account Executive to drive our energy solution business throughout the state of Virginia. We are looking for someone with proven results selling energy efficiency, performance contracts, or other complex solutions involving multiple decision makers from the C-Suite to the technical buyer. High energy, driven personality, and someone who possesses a strong W2.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a sales plan which cultivates and targets business relationships in our targeted markets at all levels in a customer’s organization.

  • Communicate NORESCO’s solutions and services to meet customer-specific needs.

  • Provide marketplace feedback, including competitive information, customer expectations, industry trends, etc.

  • Understand and influence the customer buying process.

  • Acts as the main contact with prospects to develop a professional relationship and understand the customer needs to suggest products and/or services that meet the customer's needs.

  • Leads business development activities for prospects within defined customer segments to support the business strategy.

  • Identifies bid opportunities, prepares bid responses, negotiates with potential customers, and builds and maintains customer relationships to win projects.

  • Contacts new customers to discuss their needs, and to explain how these needs could be met by specific products and services.

  • Participates as the management team representative on prospective target accounts. Establishes personal long-term customer relationships with prospective accounts to influence opportunities.

  • Attends and presents at trade shows at times to increase the visibility of the organization.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • 5+ years’ experience in selling energy efficiency, performance contracts, or other complex solutions involving multiple decision makers from the C-Suite to the Technical Buyer

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience selling into the MUSH market

  • Understands challenges and initiatives of local government, K-12 schools, higher education and/or healthcare is preferred

  • Provide consultative selling, negotiate, and close large opportunities

  • Proven ability to multi-task, manage multiple projects and effectively determine priorities

  • Exceptional written and spoken communication skills are a must

  • Strong communication and presentation skills

  • High energy, driven personality, and looking for a strong W2

  • Competent in assessing customer needs and identifying sales opportunities

  • Strong problem-solving, strategic thinking, and analytical skills required

  • Strong team-oriented, foster teamwork with improved ideas and resolution to problems

  • Extremely organized

  • Customer Relationship Management (CRM) skills

  • Ability to work autonomously and in fast paced environment

  • Ability to effectively work remotely

  • Travel required in response to customer calls.

  • Ability to prioritize projects, and drive both internal and external timelines
