About the role 

This position is for a Maintenance Mechanic Technician, who is required to carry out routine preventive maintenance and inspection of mechanical equipment, regardless of size or location. 

This is a current vacancy for which Carrier is currently hiring.

Key Responsibilities: 

As a Maintenance Mechanic Technician, you will be responsible for: 

a. Preventive Maintenance (PM)  

  • Assist in performing preventive maintenance tasks across equipment such as filter changes 

  • All oil and greasing 

  • All belt adjustment or replacement 

  • Cleaning of cooling towers, coils, evaporator tubes, condenser tubes and water treatment 

  • Cleaning, repairing and routine maintenance of equipment 

  • Assist Journeymen and Apprentices as needed for repairs 

b. Work Order & Task Completion Validation 

  • Verify completion of maintenance work orders and ensure compliance with technical standards and documentation protocols 

c. Inventory & Material Handling 

  • Delivery of parts and equipment 

d. Branch Warehouse Support 

  • Maintain warehouse inventory, tools, and consumables 

  • Compliance with storage procedures, safety policies, and general housekeeping standards 

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED

  • Hold a valid G-Class Driver’s License

  • Be a current member or be able to be accepted by the Local 787-Union

  • 1+ year of working experience in residential/manufacturing or facilities maintenance environment 

  • 1+ years of working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suites (Outlook, Word, Etc)

  • The ability to stand for extended periods of time along with routine lifting of items that typically weigh up to 50 pounds. Must have the ability to bend, stoop, stand, and squat

Preferred Qualifications

  • Gas License: G3 or G2

  • HVAC/Trade School Diploma or Certification

  • Physically capable of working in a fast-paced, stop-and-go manufacturing environment

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task effectively

  • Alert, dependable, and safety-focused

  • Previous experience in manufacturing material handling or similar industrial environments

  • Knowledge of parts and materials required for production operations

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to make quick decisions in support of a process-oriented operation

Pay Range

The expected hourly salary range for this role is between $23.00 and $46.00 per hour. The rate of pay may be impacted by factors such as the applicant’s geographic location, market data/range, skills, prior relevant experience, job-related knowledge, specific degrees and certifications, and/or other relevant considerations.

This compensation includes components such as base salary, vacation pay, public holiday pay, potential estimated overtime pay and paid statutory leaves of absence. Additional benefits may include insured benefits such as health care, vision, dental, disability, etc., as well as possible RRSP matching.

Other Compensation

This role may also provide the opportunity to earn additional incentive compensation in the form of annual bonus, sales bonus, sales commission or local incentive. If the role provides for an opportunity to earn additional incentive compensation, it will be based on measurable performance factors which may include company performance, individual performance or other key performance indicators.
