The Global Strategic Accounts – Mission Critical Associate Project Manager is an entry-level Project Management position that supports the execution of projects for large, enterprise-scale customers with national or global portfolios, specifically supporting critical data center work across the country. Working closely with Project Managers, Field Supervisors, and under the strategic direction of a Senior Project Manager, this role ensures Building Automation Systems (BAS) projects are delivered with consistent execution, strict schedule discipline, financial controls, and the highest level of customer satisfaction.

  • Drive Commercial Installations: Take ownership of key aspects of commercial installation projects within a dynamic building solutions environment, specifically supporting critical data center work across the country.

  • Deliver on Commitments: Manage and complete assigned projects strictly according to contractual requirements, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest level of customer satisfaction.

  • Scope & Change Management: Direct the execution of the contracted scope of work and proactively identify opportunities to secure change orders for any expansions of scope.

  • Standardized Excellence: Execute projects seamlessly by following established organizational project processes, working independently or under the strategic guidance of a Senior Project Manager.

Financial Performance & Accountability

  • Full Financial Ownership: Take accountability for the overall financial health and P&L performance of assigned projects (typically scaling up to a $2M revenue background).

  • End-to-End Tracking: Actively manage project planning, billing, revenue forecasting, accounts receivable (A/R) collection, and the continuous re-estimating of installation project costs.

  • Variance Analysis: Perform "actual vs. estimated" analyses to identify variances, determine reasons for variances, and implement effective mitigation steps.

  • Cash Flow Management: Maintain positive cash flow through approved Schedule of Values (SOV), follow up on billings, and work to maintain budgets or reduce costs while preserving client satisfaction.

Subcontractor & Resource Coordination

  • Lead Project Resources: Provide strong direction, leadership, and motivation to cross-functional teams and shared project resources (the role has zero direct reports but requires strong matrix management).

  • Subcontractor Management: Build and maintain collaborative relationships with subcontractors; proactively identify performance or execution issues and implement swift corrective action plans.

  • Material & Resource Optimization: Coordinate project materials and optimize the use of shared assets; stay ahead of resource constraints and develop effective remedies to keep projects moving smoothly.

Required Qualifications

  • 1+ years of experience in Construction, HVAC and/or Building Automation

  • Ability to travel nationally up to 50% as required

  • Working Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, Outlook, MS Project, Access and other Windows products

  • Self-starter with the ability to organize and plan your own work schedule while working well in a collaborative team environment

  • Previous field experience with the commissioning of DDC (Direct Digital Control) Systems and/or hands-on experience deploying or commissioning systems.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of project financial reporting and a general knowledge of employment laws and practices.

  • A true team player with the customer's best interests first and foremost, capable of handling a number of simultaneous challenges requiring knowledge of many different disciplines.
