Job Summary

Carrier is seeking a Supply Chain Leader, Engineered Material Productivity (M5) to help drive engineered, design-related material cost improvement initiatives across residential, light commercial and commercial HVAC programs. This is a high-visibility role requiring strong collaboration, problem-solving skills, and the ability to influence cross-functional teams across engineering, sourcing, operations, and business units.

This position leads a globally distributed team and partners closely with stakeholders across production facilities and design centers to ensure annual engineered material productivity targets are achieved through disciplined execution and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Engineered Material Productivity & Execution

·         Develop and execute the annual engineered material productivity plan and support delivery of committed cost targets.

·         Coordinate and track a portfolio of design and operations initiatives across global production facilities and design centers.

·         Monitor progress versus plan, identify risks or gaps, and support development of mitigation and recovery actions.

·         Identify execution challenges related to schedule, technical complexity, or resources and work with cross-functional partners to resolve them.

·         Apply structured problem-solving and creative thinking to develop alternative solutions and recovery plans.

·         Maintain productivity tracking, dashboards, and key performance metrics along with the management operating system.

Sourcing & Cost Collaboration

·         Partner with sourcing teams to support cost improvement initiatives tied to design, specifications, and engineered solutions.

·         Collaborate with engineering and operations teams on supplier actions, qualifications, and cost-focused changes.

Technical Collaboration & Problem Solving

·         Work closely with engineering and manufacturing teams executing detailed design and operational initiatives within their business units.

·         Develop a practical understanding of design and manufacturing changes to help assess feasibility, risks, and tradeoffs.

·         Contribute alternative approaches when teams encounter technical or manufacturing challenges.

People Leadership & Global Coordination

·         Lead and develop direct reports located in multiple countries, fostering engagement, accountability, and performance.

·         Lead a team of PMOs who project manage strategic projects with engineering.

·         Provide coaching, feedback, and clear priorities to a geographically distributed team.

·         Promote consistent processes and performance expectations across regions while recognizing local needs.

Communication & Stakeholder Engagement

·         Prepare and deliver clear, data-driven updates and presentations to leadership and key stakeholders.

·         Partner across functions to ensure initiatives progress with transparency, alignment, and accountability.

·         Support formal review and governance cycles using clear, data-driven materials. Lead the presentation creation and delivery to executive leadership multiple times per month.

Scope & Decision Authority

·         Leads execution of engineered material productivity initiatives within defined scope.

·         Provides recommendations and insights based on analysis, technical understanding, and cross-functional input.

·         Manages multiple initiatives across functions and regions.

Required Qualifications

·         Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or a Technology related field

·         Experience in supply chain management, sourcing, productivity, or cost improvement roles.

·         Prior people leadership experience, including managing teams across multiple locations or regions.

·         Ability to understand and discuss design or manufacturing changes at a practical technical level.

·         Strong analytical and communication skills, including experience with dashboards and performance metrics.

·         Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a cross-functional, matrixed environment.

·         3+ years' experience working with corporate finance in tracking financial metrics  

·         English and Spanish fluency, written and spoken.

·         Ability to travel up to 15% to production and design sites to support cost reduction activities.

Preferred Qualifications

·         HVAC, manufacturing, or industrial supply chain experience.

·         Experience supporting change initiatives, process improvements, or new ways of working

·         MBA degree

·         Strong process mindset with experience driving standardization and continuous improvement.
