Innovation COE Americas is in Syracuse, which is the North American center for Carrier’s product design and development, as well as groundbreaking innovative research. We ideate, design, verify and validate new products and technologies across Carrier’s global portfolio, supporting Carrier’s goal to be the global leader in intelligent climate and energy solutions.

This senior engineer will be part of the Innovation COE, Americas, focusing on developing novel climate and energy systems in support of Carrier’s plan to develop the next generation of intelligent climate and energy solutions. Their focus will be on maturing early-stage technologies that enable electrification and energy management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ideate on, and conduct initial feasibility studies of, new, emerging, and alternative technologies as applicable
  • Develop and validate technology alternatives to the current status quo in HVAC/R systems, in collaboration with team members.
  • Design test plans and conduct tests for systems, sub-systems, and components in adherence to Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) requirements.
  • Analyze test results in relation to design or rated specifications and test objectives.
  • Identify solutions to improve system and component-level performance.
  • Deploy multiscale model-based predictions and validate them through experimentation and analysis.
  • Identify risks and develop mitigation plans by working with multidisciplinary teams, SMEs, and stakeholders to drive and implement appropriate risk reduction methodologies.
  • Communicate progress, risks, and insights to technical and executive leadership
  • Demonstrate analytical thinking and a collaborative attitude while working in a group of professionals with diverse technical experiences and backgrounds.
