As an Inside Sales Representative, you will work with sales, estimating, operations, contractors, and customers while progressing through an 18- to 24-month program. You will build skills in BAS, WebCTRL, estimating, Salesforce, opportunity qualification, customer discovery, presentations, negotiation, account planning, and sales strategy.
The role is built for candidates with the right attitude, aptitude, curiosity, and work ethic. Prior BAS experience is helpful, but coachability, resilience, communication skills, organization, and competitive drive are equally important.
What You Will Do
As part of the sales organization, you will support active pursuits while developing the skills to qualify opportunities, communicate value, understand buying centers, support estimates and proposals, and contribute to disciplined pipeline growth.
Identify and qualify opportunities for building automation, controls, WebCTRL, service, renovation, and new construction solutions.
Partner with outside sales to research accounts, prepare outreach, support pursuit strategy, and advance opportunities.
Use Salesforce and related sales tools to maintain accurate account, contact, opportunity, activity, follow-up, and pipeline information.
Support estimating, Bidtracer activity, scope development, takeoffs, proposals, bid documentation, and customer deliverables.
Review specifications, drawings, control sequences, equipment schedules, and customer requirements to assess opportunity fit and strategy.
Work with sales, estimating, engineering, operations, service, project management, field engineering, and account teams.
Participate in field visits, job-site walks, equipment identification, panel reviews, and project observations to connect technical learning to real applications.

Training and Development Path
This position follows an 18- to 24-month development path covering technical knowledge, sales process, communication, customer activity, field exposure, and leadership reviews.
Phase 1: Salesforce, WebCTRL Essentials, WebCTRL demo capability, PIT certification, and standard ALC/Carrier onboarding.
Continued training: BAS fundamentals, control sequences, Bidtracer, Bluebeam, ConstructConnect, takeoffs, proposals, IT fundamentals, negotiation, presentations, Strategic Selling, and Large Account Management.
Ongoing development may include estimating and engineering assignments, field visits, customer calls, presentations, cold calling, reading assignments, and skills evaluations.
Required Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or GED.
Availability & Commitment: Ability to participate full-time in an 18- to 24-month structured development program, including classroom learning, technical instruction, and field-based training.
Mobility/Field Work: Ability to safely access and navigate commercial construction and industrial work sites during observations and training.
Technical Aptitude: 3+ months Basic proficiency using computer systems and standard software, including Microsoft Office Suite or web-based applications.
Preferred Qualifications
Education: Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Facilities Management, Marketing, or a related technical/business discipline.
Relevant Background: Prior internship, entry-level, or support experience in inside sales, customer service, HVAC, building automation (BAS), controls, construction, or facilities operations.
Technical Aptitude & Systems:
Familiarity with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) or customer database tools.
Exposure to construction or estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, Bidtracer, ConstructConnect) or basic drawing takeoffs.
Basic understanding of or interest in learning IT fundamentals, HVAC equipment, building automation architecture, and control sequences.
Core Competencies & Skills:
Communication: Demonstrated ability to write clearly, present information logically, and communicate comfortably with internal teams and external customers.
Technical Literacy: Ability to read or learn to interpret basic construction drawings, specifications, and scope documents.
Organization & Drive: Strong time management skills with a track record of handling multiple priorities, accepting constructive feedback, and applying new learning quickly.
