About This Role

Job Site Location: Sullivan, Indiana

At Automated Logic, a Carrier Company, we provide a work home for people who want a career, not just a shift. As an Associate Field Engineer focused on Allen-Bradley PLC work, you are entering the industry on the ground floor with a clear path to becoming a hands-on controls specialist. We are looking for self-directed learners eager to build skill in ControlLogix and CompactLogix checkout, Studio 5000 exposure, I/O verification, control panel troubleshooting, EtherNet/IP networked controls, and commissioning support. If you are willing to travel and enjoy solving fresh technical challenges in mission-critical field environments, you’ll fit right in.

Key Responsibilities

  • Allen-Bradley PLC Technical Execution: Assist with ControlLogix and CompactLogix panel checkout, wiring verification, I/O point-to-point testing, device terminations, sensor and actuator troubleshooting, EtherNet/IP communication checks, and controls commissioning to help ensure systems operate as designed.
  • Project Documentation: Maintain accurate Allen-Bradley PLC checkout sheets, I/O test records, redlines, deficiency logs, network notes, and daily updates while communicating controls status clearly to the team and customers.
  • Travel & On-Site Presence: Ability to travel up to 50% as project needs require and be on site daily as required to support field execution, commissioning activities, customer coordination, and project schedules.
  • Ready to Grow: Build Allen-Bradley PLC knowledge through hands-on field exposure, self-directed learning, and mentorship. We expect you to seek out system complexity, ask good troubleshooting questions, and take on more commissioning responsibility as you advance.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Must possess a valid, current Driver’s License and be insurable by the company’s insurance carrier.
  • Ability to lift items up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as squatting and climbing for extended periods.
  • Capable of working over 8 feet above grade and proficient in the use of ladders and motorized lift equipment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background: Degree, technical certificate, military training, or hands-on experience in HVAC controls, DDC systems, electrical systems, instrumentation, automation, Allen-Bradley PLCs, or a related technical field.
  • Technical Knowledge: Basic understanding of Allen-Bradley PLC platforms, Studio 5000, RSLinx or FactoryTalk Linx, DDC controls, control panels, electrical schematics, low-voltage wiring, BAS integration, EtherNet/IP, and TCP/IP networking.
  • Communication: Ability to explain technical info to non-technical people and work well within a team.
  • Software: Proficient with Microsoft 365 applications.
