About this role

Riello in Mississauga has a contract opportunity for a Customs/Shipping Coordinator. The main purpose of this role is to be responsible for department pickup and delivery of orders and materials from local and international customers in a timely and organized manner. The Customs/Shipping Coordinator manages the workload to meet customers’ requirements whilst achieving optimum department productivity. Work closely with other employees to meet or exceed customer expectations. As one of the main interfaces with Customers and Customs we need someone who provides a competent and personable representation of the company.

This is an onsite six (6) months contact in Mississauga.

Key Responsibilities

  • Schedule shipments and plan logistics
  • Prepare paperwork for shipments including customs
  • Troubleshoot shipping issues and solve daily operational problems
  • Track and update the status of shipments and custom processes
  • Inventory control, organize and catalogue inventory, document damages to inventory
  • Review invoices and check orders for accuracy
  • Coordinate warehouse activities
  • Assist with regulatory compliance
  • Communicate cross-functionally to assist team to solve operational issues
  • Organize and facilitate work team meetings (examples: pre-shift)
  • Follow and administer policies and practices

Basic Qualifications

  • High School diploma
  • 2 years plus shipping and customs experience

Preferred Qualifications

Other qualifications you may have that would be beneficial in this role include:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Strong follow up and facilitation skills and embrace a top level service environment
  • Work knowledge of Microsoft Office and SAP
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a results oriented, challenging, sense of urgency environment
  • Able to multi-task
  • Effective English communication
  • Ability to learn several interrelated systems and work efficiently on them
