Senior Business Development Executive - Water and Wastewater Solutions

NORESCO has a new opportunity for a Senior Account Executive to market and promote Water and Wastewater treatment solutions across our targeted markets and at entities prime for benefiting from a performance contract or other alternative project delivery contracting approaches.


With full support from our dedicated Water and Wastewater Development and Engineering teams, you will:

  • Act as the primary contact with the complex and strategic prospects; develops a professional relationship with the purpose of understanding the customer needs and doing our best to meet those within the bounds of contracted scope.

  • Leads business development activities for strategic prospects in support of business strategy defined by executive leadership.

  • Identifies large bid opportunities, prepares complex bid responses, negotiates with significant potential customers and builds and maintains customer relationships to win projects.

  • Contacts new customers to discuss their needs, and to explain how these needs could be met by specific products and services.

  • Participates as the management team representative on perspective target accounts. Establishes personal long-term customer relationships with perspective accounts to influence opportunities.

  • Attending and presenting at trade shows at times to increase visibility of the organization. Creates personal pipeline and customer log. Hunting for opportunities.

  • Develop a sales plan which cultivates and targets business relationships in our targeted markets at all levels in a customer’s organization.

  • Communicate NORESCO’s solutions and services to meet customer specific needs.

  • Provide marketplace feedback, including competitive information, customer expectations, industry trends, etc.

  • Understand and influence customer buying process.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • 3+ Years' experience with Water or Wastewater Solutions

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or Business/Marketing

  • Master's degree in related discipline preferred

  • Experience selling water and wastewater treatment solutions

  • Experience in design build delivery, energy efficiency solutions, performance contracts or other complex solutions

  • Communicating and Coordinating multiple decision makers from the C-Suite to the Technical buyer.

  • Ability to identify and qualify efficiency opportunities associated with wastewater and water treatment plant processes

  • Ability to close elongated sales cycles
