About this role
The Program Manager owns part of the new product introduction supply chain program strategy across the Fire & Security division at Carrier.
Key Responsibilities
Manage daily tactical activities to support program timeline
Manage and initiate proper gate reviews to ensure timely decisions are made
Take ownership and follow-through on cost, quality, and delivery commitments
Utilize problem solving skills and insistently attack issues facing the business
Engage with Engineering team to ensure supplier design is cost-effective and easily sourced
Lead dual-sourcing initiatives to ensure component availability and competition
Balance short-term and long-term objectives as it relates to development schedule, cost, quality, and delivery
Work with the commodity team for supplier selection, understand strategy and implement sourcing decisions through aligned supplier/part selection
Negotiate and award contracts in support of new product launches
Lead continuous improvement and standardization events
Generate value, productivity, and achieve financial commitments through the execution of unmatched negotiations and VAVE initiatives
Aligns sourcing decisions with global commodity strategy.
Develops supply chain plans and quality management measures for new products.
Executes value analysis of new product supply chain operations.
Monitors and manages scope in purchasing the new products.
Engages with key/critical business unit product and development engineering teams to ensure that supply chain management lead times are understood and adhered to
Required Experience
Bachelor’s Degree
3+ years of experience in supply chain
Preferred Experience
MBA
Ability to lead and influence
Understand the corporate and global business environment
Professional presence and ability to effectively communicate
Ability to work on complex problems in a nebulous environment
Engage with program team daily and provide solutions to potential risks
Relentless drive to overachieve, outstanding team player, strategic vision with ability to execute
