About this Role
The Carrier Project Manager role provides feasibility, planning, execution, and closing oversight for embedded and connected systems development efforts. These programs support the strategic roadmap as well as the vitality of the entire FSP controls product portfolio. The PM plays an integral role throughout the project lifecycle by working across multiple departments in matrixed leadership capacity. The ability to effectively communicate, collaborate, and take ownership of all project facets is critical to success. Familiarity and use of project management principles and tools is essential to the successful performance of duties.
Key Responsibilities
- Supports multiple projects for the organization and communicating priorities internally.
- Drive the implementation and development of PM standard work and best practices throughout the organization.
- Works across functional departments to develop achievable project scope, schedules, budgets, and plans for approval.
- Identifies potential risks and issues and communicates/escalates as appropriate during the project lifecycle.
- Identify processes and activities to improve projects and ensure their success from a project requirements definition (inception) through to closure (completion) and lessons learned review.
- Facilitate, track, and implement engineering changes on Legacy and NPD projects.
- Coordinate with purchasing, sourcing, planning, design engineering, and production teams to ensure timely builds/launches.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in technical or engineering discipline or project management
Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ year(s) of experience in a product development / project management environment
- Effective communication skills both written and verbal to various levels of an organization both verbally and in writing
- Excellent presentation skills
- Experience with PM performance management applications (MS Project or equivalent)
- Experience with development in a highly regulated environment (product compliance to global standards and certifications)
- Experience with Changepoint PPM (Daptiv) software or similar application
- Develops project plans, schedules and budgets for projects under his/her responsibility, and identifies, develops, and gathers necessary resources to ensure project completion
- Sets day to day operational objectives for team to meet projected targets, budgets, and milestones
- Identifies project problems and strategizes resolutions.
