About this role
The Quality Specialist – Compliance will lead the coordination efforts for the Quality Returns and Return Material Authorization (RMA) department to successfully process customer RMA’s, working with the Quality Technicians to troubleshoot and identify root cause of customer returns.
This person reports directly to the Quality Engineering Manager, for Kidde Fenwal, collaborating with the full spectrum of Kidde Fenwal departments including Operations and Process/Design Engineering.
This is an onsite role in Ashland, MA.
Key Responsibilities
- Triage incoming return material on JD Edwards software (JDE) and assign service work orders to applicable Quality Engineer
- Drive investigations to get root cause and corrective action on logistical customer complaints i.e. short shipments, incorrect shipments
- Manage the Key Performance Indicators (KPI) for the Customer Returns Quality Clinic i.e. Turnaround Time, Aging, RMA Analysis disposition
- Work with Quality Technicians to investigate and disposition non-conformances from production non-conformances that were found by the customer
- Proactively resolve and communicate any non-conformities or process problems in real-time through the Quality Clinic process and issue in 8D the Corrective Action Request (CAR)
Basic Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 4 plus years of experience in a manufacturing environment
Preferred Qualifications
Other qualifications you may have that would be beneficial in this role include:
- AS or BS
- ISO auditor certification
- ASQ certification
- Experience in Microsoft Excel, SAP/Oracle and/or other ERP systems
- Collaborative, team player with innate leadership potential and interest in learning and quality
- English communication skills (verbal & written)
- Work in cross-functional teams
- Analytical and systematic problem-solving skills
- Experience in quality assurance, quality engineering, manufacturing engineering
