About the position

Recognized Electrical and Electronics Engineering expert and thought leader. Acts as an internal consultant and represents the organization at major external events. Leads projects, plans and implements research and procedures, and oversees the preparation and implementation of necessary criteria, procedures, reports or plans.

Key responsibilities

  • Acts as an internal consultant providing technical guidance on complex projects.
  • Establishes and guides the implementation of research, methodology, and procedures to apply principles of electronic theory to engineering projects.
  • Oversees the preparation and implementation of necessary criteria, procedures, reports or plans, to ensure successful conduct of projects with consideration given to site preparation, facility validation, installation, quality assurance or testing.
  • Monitors work and training of less experienced professional and technical staff, when required, to help them diagnose and solve problems and strengthen the function.
  • Represents the organization at major conferences, meetings, boards, panels, committees, or working groups to present, explain, or defend findings or recommendations, negotiate compromises or agreements, or exchange information.
  • Lead battery system development for various electrification program in Carrier HVAC and transport Refrigeration product.
  • Lead and oversight design for safety and product certification of battery application.    
  • Develop and manage engineering development activities and standard work around battery management system (BMS) and overall battery pack.
  • Develop and manage model-based design capability around battery system design.
  • Provide expert support in various business unit programs developing battery solutions internally and/or with external partners, which includes defining requirement, selection of proper suppliers, and selection of best energy storage technology and more.
  • Manage long range technology roadmap around energy storage & grid interface technology.
  • Provide training on advanced technical concepts such as battery chemistry, cell performance, controls, charge and discharge strategies, and more to a broader audience.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Engineering.
  • 10+ years experience in the Battery application design.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience of Residential battery application and/or Transportation battery application
  • Technology leadership experience

Additional information:

  • Traveling up to 20 % (nationally and internationally)
