About this Role

The Carrier -UTEC Global Program Manager role provides feasibility, planning, execution, and closing oversight for embedded and connected systems development efforts. These programs support the strategic roadmap as well as the vitality of the entire UTEC product portfolio. The Global Program Manager plays an integral leadership role throughout the project lifecycle by working across multiple departments to successfully execute program objectives. The ability to effectively communicate, collaborate, and take ownership of all project facets is critical to success. Familiarity and use of project management principles and tools are essential to the successful performance of duties, as well as a technical understanding of key tradeoffs. This role is supporting Carrier's Transportation Refrigeration segment.

Responsibilities

  • Drives the planning of key programs to achieve strategic business objectives related to design for manufacturability, electrical component management, and cost optimization

  • Coordinates resources needed to underpin the execution of technical programs, including engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and UTEC Stakeholders.

  • Utilization of project management principles and tools (schedule, budget, scope, quality, templates) to manage and communicate status

  • Identifies potential risks, issues, and relevant mitigation plans communicating/escalating as appropriate during the project lifecycle

  • Ensures project execution and governance by tracking deadlines, deliverables, resources, process compliance, and timelines

  • Manage and communicate project progress to stakeholders at the various levels throughout the organization through established meetings and as necessitated by project developments

  • Identify processes and activities to improve projects and ensure their success from project requirements definition (inception) through to closure (completion) and lessons learned review

  • Drive the implementation and development of PM standard work and best practices throughout the organization

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • 3+ years of experience in a product development environment (agile, stage gate) using PM methodologies for status tracking, reporting, and risk management.

  • 3+ years of experience with PM performance management applications

  • Ability to be on-site at Carrier/UTEC facility no less than 70% of the working week

  • Travel – up to 10%

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in technical (engineering or related) discipline

  • MS Project experience

  • Experience in HVAC/Refrigeration Systems

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment highly preferred

  • Working knowledge of embedded systems and electronic controls

  • Project management professional certification (e.g. CAPM, PMP) from the Program Management Institute (PMI) or the ability to achieve certification in 12 months from the date of hire

  • Experience with development in a highly regulated environment (product compliance to global standards and certifications)

  • Demonstrated ability to drive results in matrix or direct role

  • Effective communication skills both written and verbal to various levels of an organization both verbally and in writing

  • Excellent presentation skills
