UTEC, Inc. is seeking a self-motivated, driven, and experienced ECN Coordinator – Purchasing Material Planner for the downtown Fort Wayne, IN location where we are centrally located to support 5 different locations in support of procurement and engineering change notices. Our ECN Coordinator – Purchasing Material Planner is the driver behind our continued growth and success. With our commitment to innovation, it’s our ECN Coordinator – Purchasing Material Planner who seek out and help implement strategic initiatives for on time implementation of new product launches and engineering changes as well as executing the purchasing function to ensure materials arrive on time for launch. Daily and Monthly Responsibilities
- The ECN Coordinator – Purchasing Material Planner will work closely with the Engineering, Product Management, and Purchasing departments involving all New Product Introductions and Engineering Change Notices including but not limited to; issuing RFQ’s to suppliers, execute material master set up for new and changed materials and ensure they are consistent with SAP requirements, determining obsolescence, and track delivery status details of all new materials to ensure new product launch dates are met.
- This ECN Coordinator – Purchasing Material Planner will attend weekly meetings to ensure actions are tracked in a change management checklist and report back the progress of each ECN and any actions to be taken in the Purchasing Department.
- The ECN Coordinator – Purchasing Material Planner will support the development of and ensuring that Standard Work Instructions are being followed.
- Partner with other stakeholder teams across business units (i.e., sales, scheduling, production, customer service, quality, expeditors, global sourcing, finance, shipping/receiving, and engineering to develop necessary analysis and documentation in a collaborative way, communicating effectively and efficiently with each team.
- The ECN Coordinator – Purchasing Material Planner will also manage the supply chain for assigned commodities. The employee will plan, analyze, procure, and expedite components utilizing accurate purchase order/schedule agreement placement to meet sales demands, monitor and maintain acceptable inventory levels, and achieve on-time deliveries to meet our customer's production schedules.
- Analyze the MRP for inventory control to ensure material arrives on time for production while not exceeding monthly inventory dollar goal initiatives, including but not limited to running specialized reports to manage inventory.
- Analyze the SAP system daily to ensure our goal of 100% supplier on-time-delivery is met through sending open order reports to the suppliers and meeting weekly with to confirm orders will arrive on time, as well as demonstrate the ability to use business judgment to resolve problems to get to root cause analysis.
- The ECN Coordinator – Purchasing Material Planner will also resolve daily Accounts Payable rejections to ensure on time payments to suppliers.
- The ECN Coordinator – Purchasing Material Planner will work closely with the Quality Department on supplier quality issues and ensure defective material is returned to the supplier for credit.
- Assist management for assigned projects as needed.
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED
10+ years of experience Buyer/Material Planner
Preferred Qualifications:
SAP experience is a plus
Windchill Experience is a plus
Accounts Payable invoice resolution experience preferred
Expert knowledge of MRP
Excellent decision-making capabilities
Problem solving skills
Strong communication skills
Must have attention to detail, be very organized, and thrive in a fast-paced work environment
Must possess a strong work ethic, ability to overcome challenges, and a willingness to learn new systems
Must be self-motivated and focused on results
Must have strong inventory management skills
Moderate to expert skill with Microsoft Office, specifically Microsoft Excel V Lookups and Pivot tables
Ability to work in a team environment as well as work independently.
Must be able to read and interpret drawings
