About this role
Seasoned Quality Assurance professional. Works as an individual contributor to achieve objectives that have a significant impact on area of responsibility. The HVAC Commercial Technical Service Manager (TSM) will be responsible for providing technical field support for Carrier Commercial Unitary products and ancillary products marketed and sold through Carrier Distribution, Carrier Direct Sales Offices and Carrier Commercial Service offices. May manage Quality Assurance processes and / or projects. Uses experience and knowledge to influence processes, standards, and plans to continuously improve quality.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide troubleshooting assistance regarding commercial HVAC equipment to all regional distributors via phone, electronic communication and/or job site visit.
- Support Factory Engineering and Quality groups in Charlotte, NC, as well as any other internal customers in gathering and providing data relevant to solving technical issues.
- Assist with developing training materials as required to present at technical meetings for distributor events, and for Carrier Commercial Service or Direct Sales Offices.
- Negotiate and process all open disputed warranty claims on a regular basis for distributor, Direct Sales, and Carrier Commercial Service office and Independent Distribution.
- Assist management in analyzing warranty data to identify above average warranty claim patterns in order to drive quality improvements, warranty ppm reductions and warranty spend.
- Ability to travel as needed to support training on site, and/or jobsite visits
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors’ degree
- 3 years Technical field experience working in the HVAC industry on commercial products.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Other qualifications you may have that would be beneficial in this role include:
- BA/BS degree in Engineering or technical field, with at least three years’ relevant experience; or MA/MS degree in Engineering or technical field.
- The ideal candidate for this position is an excellent communicator who possesses a combination of business acumen, technical and interpersonal skills.
- Commercial Applied HVAC equipment service experience (air cooled and large split systems). Experience troubleshooting all aspects of commercial applied HVAC systems including controls.
- Good conflict resolution, negotiation and problems solving skills in high pressure and challenging environments.
- Familiarity with warranty data/systems.
- Experience providing technical presentations and training. Possession of a valid driver’s license.
- Possession of a valid US passport
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Work, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
