Riello Canada a subsidiary of Carrier is also part of Riello the Italian brand leader in manufacturing systems and technologies for heating and cooling in the residential and professional sector. The facility in Mississauga is responsible for building residential burners.
About this role
Riello in Mississauga is looking for a Quality Inspector/Technician to join our team onsite. As an established Quality Inspection professional duties will include to execute inspections using inspection methods, standards, procedures and sequences to ensure that quality standards are maintained. Also to manage and maintain inspection logs and assist in the preparation of materials to document inspection results.
Key Responsibilities
- Quality inspection of “finished products” and “sub-assemblies ready for delivery” in line with procedures and documentation
- Quality inspection and report on incoming materials and parts
- Conduct periodic “in process inspection” and training for new operators
- Prepare quality reports i.e. NCRs, Quality Alerts, RGA, Inspection records and results
- Sort and/or coordinate sorting and rework activities
- Educate production team on quality control issues
- Work with departmental managers and engineering team to improve safety and product quality
- Cooperate in creation, modification and implementation of quality process checklists and procedures
- Participate and support continuous improvement quality activities i.e. 5S, Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing
Basic Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED or Technical College/Mechanical Engineering Diploma
- One year plus experience as a Quality Inspector in a manufacturing environment
Preferred Qualifications
Other qualifications you may have that would be beneficial in this role include:
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in HVAC
- Read and understand blueprint drawings and technical documentation
- Understand raw materials in the assembly process in a manufacturing industry
- Basic Quality skills i.e. ISO, Control Plans, 5S, Root Cause Analysis and 8D
- English communication skills
- Manage conflict and expectations of stakeholders
- Attention to detail
- Able to use basic shop tools
- Microsoft and Shop Floor Control System i.e. XLS, SAP
- Six Sigma Green Belt, ISO and Kaizen training certification
- Work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced manufacturing setting
