About this role

Carrier Marine & Offshore Systems has been a global leader in maritime air conditioning and refrigeration technology since we pioneered the first shipboard use of air conditioning. Today, our products are found aboard cruise ships, offshore platforms, and commercial vessels throughout the world.

If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and are looking for an opportunity to develop your supervisory and systems skills in a customer service environment, then we have a great opportunity for you.  We are seeking a motivated, process-oriented individual in Syracuse, NY to provide exceptional customer service leadership to Marine parts customers and team members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Achieve annual sales, gross margin and market share targets for Marine finished goods/equipment/system sales.

  • Help to grow business through existing and new accounts by building solid long-term relationships, promoting Carrier’s products, attending trade shows and marketing events, etc.

  • Review customer specifications and recommend solutions; develop and execute sales proposals and contracts.

  • Assist with Developing and influencing growth strategies to target business via non-traditional channels; aggressively pursue new market segments to expand direct business.

  • Develop internal expertise to position Carrier as premier solution provider; provide product and system expertise within key vertical markets.

  • Develop long term relationships and build partnerships with the customer; provide customers with superior value and service.

  • Work with internal Carrier departments for product, control, and system solutions.

  • Manage the relationship with Marine Dealer channel; develop and influence channel growth strategies

  • Execute quotes, follow-up and close work with customers, handle post-sale submittal and order entry work, assist with project management duties, accounts receivable responsibilities.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree.

  • 3 years HVAC industry experience. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.

  • Solid HVAC experience and knowledge of HVAC systems and design.

  • Ability to work with little direction or guidance from others.

  • Sense of urgency, self-initiative, commitment and sense of ownership.

  • Strong follow-up and follow-through skills.

  • Team-oriented, ability to create strong internal relationships, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills.

  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities.

  • Excellent problem solving and advanced analytical skills.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and QuoteBuilder, and SAP/HVAC Partners
