About the Role

Carrier Corporation has an exciting opportunity for an Associate Director to lead our service and aftermarket strategies and initiatives for Commercial HVAC new equipment product management with our global and regional teams. The role is responsible for ensuring that new product design and development are aligned with Carrier’s product lifecycle strategy.  These responsibilities include outlining aftermarket strategies and initiatives related to differentiate value-added customer service including remote connectivity, extended warranty, service agreements, upgrades and replacement parts for new product development programs.

This position is for an integral member of both the Commercial HVAC Global Product Management team and the Commercial HVAC Service & Aftermarket team.  The position reports to the Vice President, Commercial HVAC Product Management, Marketing & Strategy. We are looking for a high-energy, highly collaborative talented individual to join our team, lead the charge, and be part of the solution at Carrier. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Understand overall commercial HVAC industry trends and customer needs to identify and drive service and aftermarket lifecycle strategies in new global product design

  • Define and track service and aftermarket metrics for new commercial equipment product programs

  • Define service and aftermarket requirements for new commercial equipment on a product, component and post-sale support including post-sale requirements for service support readiness, onsite service, and remote subscription-based service

  • Identify service and aftermarket opportunities to add new features and options to other currently manufactured products

  • Define the service and aftermarket opportunity that can be captured with the new or enhanced features and capabilities and include the benefit in the new product program business case.

  • Ensure alignment and buy-in with global and regional Commercial HVAC Service & Aftermarket teams on business case and required actions to achieve targets

  • Work directly with each global equipment Product Manager and the Program Management Office on upcoming product development programs

  • Ensure service and aftermarket requirements are defined for success and executed on-time per plan schedule for each new product development program

  • Actively participate in the product strategic and technical readiness stage gate reviews to ensure aftermarket and service deliverables are completed and aligned with the lifecycle strategy.

  • Advocate and collaborate with key stakeholders in other functions to define and align on the lifecycle strategy for each key new equipment product development programs

  • Contribute to global strategic marketing product, vertical and segment plans including events, presentations, brochures, training, and videos related to launching new commercial products

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 8+ year’s manufacturing aftermarket services or products experience

  • 8+ years product management experience

  • Ability to travel 25% internationally and domestic

Preferred Qualifications

  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written

  • Proficient with MS Office

  • Experience interacting with functional teams in IT, Services, Software Development, Product Management, Product Marketing, supply chain and Finance

  • Project management experience

  • Knowledge of commercial applied HVAC market, systems, and products.

  • Excellent communicator who possesses a combination of business acumen, technical and interpersonal skills

  • Fluency in a foreign language
