We currently have an excellent opportunity for a highly-motivated, self-directed and results-oriented Strategic Account Manager in our Government Solutions Team, focusing on business development and sales in the Higher Ed school market. You will be responsible for growing commercial equipment, controls and service sales in Higher Ed market in assigned territory. 

This position offers remote work flexibility from anywhere in the United States.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leverage existing Higher Ed relationships for new business development

  • Conduct Market analysis and identify key customer targets

  • Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve sales targets in assigned territory

  • Develop and maintain owner relationships with partners in large Higher Ed institutions to influence design standards and projects for direct and indirect sales opportunities

  • Develop strategies for capital spending and operational priorities to align with customer’s ESG goals

  • Use state procurement contracts and other sales tools to increase equipment sales

  • Oversee Higher Ed sales activities and resources within sales channels in assigned territory

  • Collaborate with local Carrier Commercial Sales, Service, and Controls teams on sales strategies that improve Carrier’s competitive position

  • Track project activity

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 7+ years of commercial HVAC systems sales leadership experience

  • Valid Driver's license

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business or Marketing

  • Higher Ed market segment

  • Analytical thinking to strategically identify and target high potential growth opportunities

  • Enterprise level controls systems knowledge

  • Proven success in promoting and selling based on financial value proposition - life cycle costs, total cost of ownership

  • Technical knowledge and experience in Applied systems design

  • Knowledge of Higher Ed procurement practices including state and cooperative purchasing agreements

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to interact with both external customers and across functional team of sales, engineering, manufacturing & marketing associates

  • Sense of urgency, self-initiative, dedication and sense of ownership

  • Outstanding follow-up and follow-through skills

  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail, while also able to prioritize

  • Ability to build rapport and collaborate with local equipment, service and controls teams

  • Unwavering customer service orientation

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word & PowerPoint) and Salesforces.com
