Carrier Transicold is seeking a full-time laboratory technician to work on truck and trailer refrigeration products!
Key Responsibilities:
The lab technician provides technical support to the Engineering functional groups. This position is for an individual who possesses excellent computer skills with good hands-on work experience.
The technician will need to understand and perform tasks from written and verbal requirements; setup computers, instrumentation, test cells and equipment, and collect data that is useful in evaluating performance.
- Must be able to interpret engineering drawings and electrical schematics.
- The technician applies skills to perform HVACR testing and troubleshooting to electromechanical equipment with the ability to analyze HVACR performance data to resolve most questions and problems.
- Must be able to maintain units and laboratory equipment in proper operating condition.
- The Technician must adapt to new procedures, techniques, tools, materials and/or equipment to meet the more complex requirements and functions of the position.
- This position requires a highly motivated work ethic and the ability to work on multiple projects at the same time while maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
Required Qualifications:
- Highschool Diploma or GED
- 1+ year experience brazing components in and out of units
- 1+ year experience pulling wire harnesses out of a unit, dissemble and reassemble
- 1+ year experience understanding HVACR systems, controls, diesel engines, and be able to troubleshoot unit issues
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associates Degree, Technical/Business School Certificate or Diploma, Skilled Trades Apprenticeship, or other post high school training
- Must be proficient in MS office applications, specifically Excel, along with overall good computer skills
- Refrigerant recovery certification and be able to
- Knowledge of CAN bus systems and physics of power and battery technology is highly desirable
- Environmental testing and data collection, metal fabrication, auto mechanics, programming, and/or CAD skills are a plus
