About this role:

The Senior Manager, Marketing Communications/Advertising will lead a large team of experienced Marketing Communication/Advertising professionals or Marketing Communication/Advertising team leaders, overseeing the branding of products and creation of advertising campaigns, and new initiatives aimed at supporting the short to medium-term Marketing and Sales objectives/goals. You will ensure the development of consistent design integrity and marketing collateral in support of the Marketing strategy. Communicates with and influences all key stakeholders to establish goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Works closely with all brands and other key stakeholders to establish objectives and goals for initiatives, including, but not limited to, online functionality, design, usability, and measurement of added value or impact.
  • Establishes standards for managing the development and execution of promotional campaigns and communications plans to implement the organization's advertising and promotions strategy.
  • Ensures consistent design integrity and marketing collateral to support brand positioning within the market and continuity with projects.
  • Establishes and drives business strategies on the web, through e-commerce, and towards social media.
  • Represents the organization at trade association meetings to promote products.
  • Monitor and analyze sales promotion results to determine the cost-effectiveness of promotion campaigns.
  • Track program budgets and expenses and campaign response rates to evaluate each campaign based on program objectives and industry norms.
  • Train and direct workers engaged in developing and producing advertisements.
  • Coordinate activities of departments, such as sales, graphic arts, media, finance, and research.
  • Plan and execute advertising policies and strategies for organizations.
  • Prepare and negotiate advertising and sales contracts.
  • Prepares annual reports and support materials for intended financial audiences.
  • Create, maintain, and interpret brand identity standards.
  • Lead the development and implementation of marketing, communications, product support and programming that will drive volume and profit for Carrier’s North America HVAC parts business. Work closely with Sales, Product Management, and Operations to develop, implement, and measure integrated, comprehensive marketing programs that align with the business's strategic priorities while increasing demand and preference for Carrier HVAC parts.
  • Develop, recommend, and implement marketing strategies, plans, programs, and measures to support and grow North American HVAC parts sales while improving profitability and competitive position.
  • Develop and maintain effectiveness measurements for all marketing programs.
  • Expand brand presence within the HVAC industry through varying sources of media advertising and digital platforms.
  • Analyze programs and recommend strategic and annual improvements based on distributor and dealer's voice of customer feedback.
  • Develop a robust external communication strategy to promote new products, programs, and the overall HVAC parts business value proposition.
  • Coordinate the efficient and effective cascade of information from the HVAC parts business (product, marketing, sales, training, etc.) through the entire channel (e.g. distributors and dealers).
  • Enhance the parts business’ industry engagement by transforming the channel website presence, literature/catalogs, and recommending new tool creation to increase effectiveness.
  • Oversee the content development for literature, catalogs, trade advertising, channel websites and mobile applications where applicable.
  • Lead efforts to collect and synthesize competitive intelligence and market trends to develop effective promotion strategies.
  • Seek customer input on needs and requirements that lead to new, more competitive programs and tools.
  • Partners with the Sr. Training Manager on the development and execution of training in support of products, including Regional Training, Totaline University, and other venues.
  • Coordinate parts business marketing strategies with the North American HVAC residential and commercial equipment sales and marketing leaders.
  • Oversee all aspects of event planning, meeting strict deadlines and budget demands.
  • Nurture and build relationships with vendors, venues, and other industry contacts to craft and implement creative and logistical aspects of all events.
  • Manage and enhance the HVAC parts co-op fund program to drive effective local marketing and product support efforts.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 10 + years of experience in Marketing and/or Communications

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MA/MS degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field with 8+ years’ experience in Marketing
  • Marketing experience with HVAC parts distribution
  • Strong project management skills
  • Strong communication skills with ability to interact within a cross functional team of engineering, sales, purchasing, and marketing.
  • Successful experience in leading teams and working in a matrix environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytic skills
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail, while also able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Sense of urgency, self-initiative, commitment, and sense of ownership
  • Superior follow-up and follow-through skills
  • Requires ~20% travel to quarterly customer regional meetings, annual distribution conferences, customer or distributor site visits, and vendor/supplier visits.
