Det-Tronics is a part of the Global Fire Products business of Carrier and has a global footprint with manufacturing sites in the U.S. and sales presence in all key geographies.
Det-Tronics is searching for a Production Planner. This role will be a critical part of the Supply Chain team and will plan, release, and manage work orders for manufacturing and assembly based on demand, material availability, work center capacity, and inventory. This role will also work closely with the Sales organization to understand customer requirements and priorities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan production resources within operations constraints and to fulfill demand requirements.
- Determine optimum safety stock, reorder points, and inventory levels for each part based on multiple variables (average demand, variability in demand, variability in supply, lead lime, MTO/ATO/MTS, etc).
- Maintain fill rates (based on shipping pick dates) of at least 98%.
- Work with purchasing to address any component issues.
- Work closely with Customer Service on proper and timely communication regarding lead times changes and issues with Sales Orders.
- Create production schedule that can be executed efficiently and without issue.
- Promise Sales Order lines with best lead times based on multiple variables.
- Maintain accurate and current information in the Item Master.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS –
- High School Diploma or GED
- 3+ years of experience with production planning, production control or supply chain
- 1+ years of experience using Microsoft Excel
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS –
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Practical knowledge of programs or systems with the ability to make enhancements and leverage in daily work
- Planning experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment with multilevel electro-mechanical assemblies
- Experience using JDE preferred.
- Working knowledge of pull systems, and/or PFEP preferred
- Possess ability to work cross-functionally across multiple business lines with limited oversight
- Demonstrated experience with effectively managing & prioritizing multiple deliverables
