NORESCO is seeking a motivated college intern to assist with its services for Summer 2024.
Key Responsibilities
Assist the team with executing Energy Audits, Commissioning, Retro-Commissioning, Feasibility Studies, and Building Assessments in commercial and institutional facilities by performing building site investigations.
Analyze and report monthly utility data, metering interval data, and/or logger data for the purposes of supporting Energy Conservation Measures (ECMs)
Collect and organize data such as equipment counts, nameplate data, site photos, etc.
Assist in identifying energy conservation opportunities associated with HVAC, controls, and building envelope systems.
Participate in New Construction commissioning and Existing Building retro-commissioning tasks in the field, including:
HVAC equipment installation and functional testing, HVAC control system reviews, issues database management, etc.
Support testing, adjusting, and balancing activities in the field, including:
Air/water temperature, pressure and flow measurements, etc.
Assist in the analysis of renewable and alternative energy project feasibility studies.
Contribute to field reports, site inspection reports, and summary letters for work performed, including written descriptions of identified issues and energy conservation measures.
Assist in the final development of reports, including written descriptions of energy conservation measures and utility analysis
Anticipate frequent travel to job sites within the NYC area. Paperwork can be updated from the office.
Required Qualifications
Pursuing Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Energy or a related field
3.0 or higher GPA
Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications
Strong communication and technical writing skills, along with project-level experience, are preferred
Computer fluency, verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a flexible environment
Building energy technologies, including chillers, boilers, heating system units and controls, lighting, electricity metering, monitoring systems, commercial/residential packaged A.C. systems, commercial/residential electrical systems, P.V. applications, and heat pumps
Energy auditing and ASHRAE requirements
New York City and State or other sustainability policies, programs, and regulations
Energy modeling software, such as DesignBuilder or eQuest
Other engineering or construction experience
