About This Role
Carrier’s Global Indirect Procurement organization is responsible for managing the company portfolio of indirect spend globally, which includes Professional Services, Travel, Fleet, Utilities, IT/Telecom, Field Services, Facilities, MRO, Engineering Services and Real Estate. The global indirect portfolio consists of over $2B in annual spend with a supply base of more than 15,000 suppliers supporting all businesses and factories around the world. We drive next level value creation through commercial excellence, technology enablement, and transformed supplier relationships-business models. We have an exciting opportunity for an Associate Director, Strategic Programs, within the Indirect Procurement organization. This leader will be responsible for initiating and managing strategic programs globally that are aimed at elevating the performance and capability of the function to industry leading levels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of 4-6 employees in Indirect Procurement across multiple countries
- Strategically manage various programs including M&A integrations, Project Management Office (PMO), Sustainable Procurement/ESG programs, Supply Risk Management program, Vested Supplier Business Model transformation, and functional transformation.
- Partner with other Indirect Procurement Directors, Supply Chain COE, and other functions within Carrier to secure support for programs, resource allocation, and execution plans
- Effectively lead delivery of step change in sustainable value creation and capability to advance company competitiveness and improve reliability of supply to meet business and factory demand
- Develop strong collaboration with business unit, factory, and other functional leaders and partner to align on strategy, change management, and sustainability of value creation.
- Lead change management process through influence with other leaders across Supply Chain and other functions globally
- Effectively communicate and influence internally and externally to C-suite levels
- Owns and develops critical supply chain management strategy and goals in terms of operations, specific interventions, related costs and timelines, in line with the organizational strategy.
- Defines systems and processes for the Supply Chain. Directs collaboration with channel partners including suppliers, intermediaries, third party service providers and customers.
- Recommends and implements process improvements in supply chain management.
- Responsible for budget planning & control on key parameters contributing to supply chain cost.
- Reviews monthly production plans and provides inputs; Monitors variances and guides resolution; Resolves escalations on daily production plan and material resource planning.
- Monitors adherence of import, export & excise regulation as per compliance.
Required Qualifications:
- BA/BS degree in supply chain, business or engineering
- 10+ years’ experience in Procurement/Supply Chain leadership
- Ability to travel up to 10% domestically and internationally
Preferred Qualifications:
- Operations leadership experience.
- 10+ years leading cross-functional global teams.
- MA/MS degree
- Experience providing strategic leadership & execution specifically with sustainable procurement projects
- Proven success in managing Procurement M&A Project Management Office (PMO), Sustainable Procurement/ESG programs, Supply Risk Management program, Vested Supplier Business Model transformation, and functional transformation.
- Proven ability to exercise independent business judgment to drive strategy and results.
- Proven ability to lead a regional team to achieve results through leadership & influence.
- Ability to excel in a dynamic environment.
- Demonstrated thought leadership with ability to lead analysis and resolution of complex problems where success requires the evaluation of both tangible and intangible variables.
- Ability to travel internationally as required for due diligence, transition, and issue resolution
