About this role 

The position will support Carrier's Commercial HVAC division's North America Field Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) team. The EHS team is responsible for the design, implementation, and effectiveness of the EHS Management Operating System within the North American field operations to maximize personnel safety and minimize operational environmental impact. The EHS team is currently seeking a full-time intern to assist in process development, validation, and documentation. The priority is strengthening the division's chemical and Safety Data Sheet management. The intern will work cross-functionally across the 125+ North American locations to redefine and redeploy the chemical management program, assisting in facilitating compliance improvements. This is a Summer 2024 internship.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Research and development of chemical management program updates

  • Facilitation of EHS programs and their improvement as we implement them across the business

  • Administration and analytics within EHS-related databases, developing proposals for improvement initiatives, driving engagement, and enhancing safety culture

  • Development of EHS-related Training and Communications to improve safety culture within the Field Services group.  

Required Qualifications

  • Pursuing Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Health, and Safety or related field

  • 3.0 or higher GPA  

  • Must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship 

Preferred Qualifications

  • General Chemical Compliance Knowledge

  • General Microsoft Office computer skills

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Self-motivated, ability to research topics.

  • Capable of working in a team-oriented, virtual environment.
