About this role 

We seek a motivated, results-oriented college student to join our team for Summer 2024. The Carrier internship experience offers interns an environment that provides practical, challenging, and meaningful on-the-job work experience and the opportunity to apply knowledge and demonstrate strengths to assist Carrier in achieving its business strategy.  
 

Key Responsibilities

  • Refrigeration system and component - design and qualification 

  • Vapor compression cycle – Component and system integration 

  • Transport refrigeration system – business and application 

  • Developing hands-on skill set working in the lab 

  • Data analysis from qualification test and unit test in the lab 

  • System integration test with actual unit, data review, and report out 

  • Maintain and update the life test unit and work with technicians and engineers for any unit modification 

  • Modify Excel macro if needed to help the download data for easier review 

  • Generating documents for any lab testing for the assigned project 

  • Conduct Refrigeration component qualification test and system evaluation 

  • Work with the project engineer to support component qualification and lab testing for various programs 
     

Required Qualifications 

  • Pursuing Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical engineering or related field 

  • 3.0 or higher GPA   

  • Must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship. 
     

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Relevant coursework or previous internships are preferred 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications 

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including report writing and presenting technical information 

  • Self-driven and proactive 

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities 

  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels 

  • Team player and willing to collaborate with others on projects 

  • Candidates should possess the ability to work hands-on in the Lab 

  • Demonstrated good computer and analytical experience with engineering development tools such as Matlab and Excel macro 

  • Candidates should be self-motivated, able to work independently, organized, and able to follow directions well 

  • Knowledge and ability to thrive in a fast-paced changing environment is essential for success in this position
