Det-Tronics is a $150M technologically innovative, projects-based global P&L protecting customers in many challenging environments with high end flame and gas detection products and systems. Det-Tronics is a part of the Global Fire Products business of Carrier and has a global footprint with manufacturing sites in the U.S. and sales presence in all key geographies.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the activities of a team of engineers who design manufacturing processes and specifications that will improve the efficiency and productivity of the organization’s manufacturing operations.
- Responsible for the Productivity Improvement Program creation and execution.
- Uses highly developed technical knowledge and project management skills for project planning budget management, and methodology development to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to defined goals.
- Coordinates the preparation of business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budgets, and the financial terms and conditions of contracts to ensure that progress and performance can be tracked.
- Responsible for the implementation of NPI
- Establishes design concepts, manufacturing process criteria, product specifications, and other components impacting manufacturing engineering.
- Directs recruitment, placement, and evaluation of Manufacturing engineering staff and their work products to ensure the effective deployment of talent.
- Oversees the functional management of direct reports including but not limited to career development and succession planning to meet the organization's needs.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 4+ years’ experience in manufacturing engineering and/or industrial engineering.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
- Strong troubleshooting and documentation skills
- Lean Manufacturing-Six Sigma-Kaizen-5S experience is highly desirable.
- Working knowledge of ISO and operations management best practices.
- Demonstrates a balance of robust analytical, written, and verbal communications skill.
- Must possess proven project management skills, process improvement skills, applied computer technology (MRP/DRP, etc.)
