Service Manager

Based in the Wallingford, CT area preferred, this position will be responsible for leading a team of intermediate to experienced Field Service professionals, reviewing escalated issues, establishing and maintaining a good relationship with key customers, and respond to escalated complaints from high-profile customers.

Primary responsibilities in this role include:

  • Manage team of field technicians and office staff according to established programs and objectives.
  • Oversee technician schedules and manage non-productive time. 
  • Responsible for technician recruiting and staffing as needed.
  • Promote a safety culture and ensure zero safety incidents.
  • Forecast, monitor, and document financial performance against plan.
  • Drive profitability of repair jobs and maintenance agreements.
  • Resolves issues encountered on repair jobs and maintenance agreements.
  • Escalate critical/complex issues that will impact the business.
  • Establish and maintain good relationships with customers.  
  • Assist with contract renewals, warranty execution, cash flow mgmt. as needed.
  • Respond to customer complaints and implement appropriate improvement plans.

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of HVAC industry experience
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License
  • High School diploma or GED

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of service management experience in the Commercial HVAC industry
  • Working knowledge and understanding of commercial HVAC systems
  • Technical aptitude
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Engineering or relevant field
  • Proactive and able to balance multiple priorities
  • Excellent communication, both written and oral
  • Good computer skills: knowledge of and proficiency in common office applications such as MS Word, Excel, Outlook and ability to navigate SalesForce.com, ServiceMax, and other business applications
