External Description:

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

This position will work on the factory floor monitoring material flow from the dock to production lines.  The main focus of the position will be to understand the schedule of units flowing from the 3PL warehouse through to product completion and ensure accurate and efficient material flow following that schedule.  The METL will ensure constant and accurate communication is conducted with 3PL Warehouse to facilitate material flow.  Additionally, the METL will monitor all material movement operations ensuring adherence to all SOP’s, plant policies, and safety protocols. 

SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS/ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Direct multiple material handlers and delivery assurance coordinators based on production schedule to ensure uninterrupted production.

• Responsible for quality checking the work of other MHs and DACs, and training

new hires as needed

• Serving as an addition resource for peers on the production floor in lieu of supervisor

• Work efficiently and effectively to ensure the production schedule remains on-time,

minimizing unit dwell time.

• Operate a forklift to move material and finished goods around the plant

• Ensure EO’s and other material flow documents are properly processed

• Identify ways to improve the efficiency and safety of manufacturing processes in the

workstation

• Maintain the cleanliness of workstation and assist with entire department

housekeeping.

• High personal standards with regards to productivity, quality, and safety.

• Willingness to learn multiple stations within the department

• Mandatory overtime and weekend hours are frequent and may be assigned as needed

EDUCATION / CERTIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma or GED required.

Prior experience with material movement or warehousing is strongly preferred required

EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS:

• Requires level headed thinking in the face of adversity and complex situations, along

with business case justified decision making abilities

• Ability to safely operate forklift, dock doors, scan guns, etc.

• Ability to read procedural documents and safety materials..

• Able to lead others professionally and effectively

• Ability to safely operate a forklift.

• Experience maintaining the cleanliness of workstations

PHYSICALITY:

• Lifting up to 30 pounds

• A majority of the time spent moving around the work area with little behind the desk time

• Doing repetitive manual tasks with hands and arms

• Tolerance of extreme weather conditions including, sun exposure, rain, and extreme

heat and cold.
