About this role:

The BAS Controls Application Engineer for the ALC West region coordinates with Mechanical/Electrical engineers as well as Architects and project customers to provide a complete and user-friendly Automated Logic DDC system. The controls engineer shall also have to be able to visit jobsites, attend design meetings (on-site & virtual) and do job walks with our salesperson(s), project managers and/or field engineers as needed to give expertise guidance on potential or current projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Generate shop or design drawings utilizing AutoCAD or EDS
  • Generate and compile submittal packages for the customer, including; material data sheets, bill of materials (BOM), valve schedules, damper schedules, etc.
  • Track the progress of projects
  • Coordinate with Engineering Manager on project statuses
  • Be available to coordinate with Project Managers as needed. Answer design questions and make design recommendations as needed.
  • Manage time accordingly so as to keep projects moving forward in a timely manner.
  • Read and answer emails in a timely manner.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 3+ years of HVAC Controls Programing Experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate’s Degree
  • Proficient in Engineering Design Suite (EDS) would be a plus
  • Must have a strong knowledge of how an HVAC system works
  • Must have a strong work ethic
  • Must be able to manage time so as to meet project schedule due dates for engineering deliverables
  • Must be able to work with a team
  • Must be self-motivated and be able to complete work tasks with minimal supervision
  • Must have good and concise communication skills
  • Must be willing to learn new skills and knowledge, either by self-paced training, virtual instructor training or be available to travel to receive in person training.
