About The Role:
Carrier is looking for a chief architect for our global businesses to drive a strategic, customer centric innovation portfolio focused on the data center market, its associated technologies and integrations. The candidate will partner closely with relevant business unit general managers, engineering, product, sales and strategy leaders in order to deeply analyze incoming trends, opportunities and threats that relate data centers, one of the fastest growing market verticals. The candidate will have overall global system responsibility in addition to North America regional responsibility for customer solutions. The ideal candidate would have successfully developed innovation strategy, matured technology concepts all the way to product solutions for data center customers, while having close cross-functional engagement throughout.
Core Responsibilities Include:
- System architecture map development spanning from air handlers and liquid cooling to chillers and cooling towers
- Analysis and forward-looking strategy given emerging trends in data center construction and operation
- Customer by customer assessment of future needs (hyperscalers, colos, others)
- Drive technology & innovation prioritization across R&D organizations
- Define and execute technology strategy, architecture, and system level requirements within domain
- Build value propositions across business segments for our technology development, aligned with business leadership
- Drive enterprise level synergies through the development of global platforms
- Own delivery of first-generation innovation
- Understand and respond to competition and disruption in the market
Other Skills:
Relationship Building: Proven track record of building trusted relationships with Digital and Business management across product lines. Experience in managing various stakeholder relationships to get consensus on solutions/initiatives.
Problem Solving: Ability to solve problems using analytical thinking, reconciling viewpoints, evaluating technologies, and leveraging key relationships.
Communication: Demonstrated ability to explain complex technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiences. Presentation skills with a high degree of comfort with both large and small audiences (Senior Executives, Digital management, Functional leaders as well as DevOps teams, External customers).
Required Qualifications:
- Associates degree with 10+ years of industry experience working with strategy innovation and system solutions
Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA or Startup experience would be a plus
- 5+ years of industry experience working with data center customers on advanced solutions
- Familiarity with industrial business models for HVAC and Heat Pumps
