Join Carrier using your HVAC skills to help us provide excellent customer service to our customers in Northwest Arkansas/Southwest Missouri area.  

Work with and learn from Journeyman technicians while assisting customers and handling service calls.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Inspect air-conditioning units to ensure efficient operation
  • Perform regularly scheduled maintenance on heating and cooling units
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical malfunctions
  • Assist with installing, replacing, or repairing damaged equipment; calibrate thermostatic controls
  • Assist with installing new heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning systems; repair and replace damaged or worn heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning parts and equipment; repair or replace low- and high-pressure liquid lines
  • Inspect and observe pressure of liquids and vapor with instrumentation to ensure efficient operation of the unit and make necessary adjustments; inspect and service refrigeration equipment including refrigerators, ice machines, gas packs, and heat pumps
  • Assist with and maintain the chilled and hot water supply systems
  • Adjust and maintain internal electrical and electronic control systems; clean coils, blowers, check motors, and belt tensions
  • Assist with assembly and install metal ductwork (where applicable).
  • Assist in planning and designing of new installations of heating and air-conditioning systems
  • Maintain maintenance records as required by City, State, and EPA regulations
  • Performs additional duties and responsibilities as required
  • Recognize and identify potential risks and hazards associated with performing all work-related duties safely
  • Work to mitigate potential risks associated with essential duties
  • Collaborate with management personnel to maintain safe working environments
  • Participate in a comprehensive OSHA-approved safety course (preferably an OSHA 10- or 30-hour course) and adhere to company and regulatory compliance programs
  • Obtain or carry current low-voltage electrical card
  • Obtain or carry an EPA refrigerant license
  • Wear appropriate company-issued uniform as well as PPE where required to work safely.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Ability to enter the Union and or currently enrolled
  • Posses a valid and current Driver’s License that meets the insurance requirements of the company
  • Push/pull/lift up to 50 lbs

Preferred Qualifications:

  • OSHA 10/30 Certified
  • Principles and practices of Heating, Venting, Air Conditioning (HVAC) maintenance and repair; hazard and safety practices common to the trade
  • HVAC controls and safety devices; appropriate Safety Data Sheets (SDSs) / chemical usages; tools of the trade; materials and refrigerant recovery equipment and procedures used in installing, repairing, and maintaining HVAC systems
  • Computerized electrical circuits and systems as they relate to air-conditioning, heating, ventilating, and refrigerated cooling
  • Knowledge of sheet metal, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry
  • Basic understanding of building automation controls
