About this role

As the Automation Technician, you will be a member of the engineering team responsible for supporting maintenance operations in a refrigeration tube manufacturing organization. This position is assigned to work in the engineering department, performing daily maintenance duties with special focus on controls and automation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote a safe, clean, organized working environment for all employees and always wear proper PPE.

  • Be a technical leader supporting the maintenance team in troubleshooting and performing repairs and preventive maintenance on all production equipment as needed.

  • Become a key player in sustaining and improving production equipment up-time by ensuring reliability and repeatability. So that all equipment can produce consistent quality products.

  • Collaborate to reduce the cost of equipment part inventories and help ensure correct levels of critical spares.

  • Perform line modifications/additions, installations, upgrades, and advanced troubleshooting pertaining to PLC’s, VFD’s, plant networking and automated systems.

  • Lead projects related to process improvement.

  • Aid in the management of the file directory for all production equipment and ensure that the maintenance team has access to the latest revisions of every file and software.

  • Documentation of all production related modifications to programs and system controls for traceability.

  • Work with others to operate as a productive and efficient team.

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate degree

  • 3+ years maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, and 2+ years working with automation

  • Have the ability to bend, stoop, stand, and kneel for extended periods of time

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in Engineering Technology, Automated Systems, Industrial Maintenance preferred.

  • Working knowledge of computer systems including MS Office.

  • Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
