About this role
As the Automation Technician, you will be a member of the engineering team responsible for supporting maintenance operations in a refrigeration tube manufacturing organization. This position is assigned to work in the engineering department, performing daily maintenance duties with special focus on controls and automation.
Key Responsibilities:
Promote a safe, clean, organized working environment for all employees and always wear proper PPE.
Be a technical leader supporting the maintenance team in troubleshooting and performing repairs and preventive maintenance on all production equipment as needed.
Become a key player in sustaining and improving production equipment up-time by ensuring reliability and repeatability. So that all equipment can produce consistent quality products.
Collaborate to reduce the cost of equipment part inventories and help ensure correct levels of critical spares.
Perform line modifications/additions, installations, upgrades, and advanced troubleshooting pertaining to PLC’s, VFD’s, plant networking and automated systems.
Lead projects related to process improvement.
Aid in the management of the file directory for all production equipment and ensure that the maintenance team has access to the latest revisions of every file and software.
Documentation of all production related modifications to programs and system controls for traceability.
Work with others to operate as a productive and efficient team.
Required Qualifications:
Associate degree
3+ years maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, and 2+ years working with automation
Have the ability to bend, stoop, stand, and kneel for extended periods of time
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate degree in Engineering Technology, Automated Systems, Industrial Maintenance preferred.
Working knowledge of computer systems including MS Office.
Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
