About the Role

The Director of Corporate Communications for Global Operations will lead the development of a best-in-class integrated communication strategy for Carrier’s Global Operations function.

This is a high-impact, visible role responsible for crafting and deploying compelling internal and external communications that amplify the enterprise Operations strategy. The individual will be a strategic thought partner to senior leaders, with a particular focus on engaging and empowering Carrier’s 20,000+ global frontline employees. This role requires close collaboration with senior executives and communications professionals across the enterprise to ensure a cohesive and consistent approach to communications.

This role will report to the Executive Director, Communications, with close alignment to the SVP, Global Operations.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Communications Strategic Planning and Execution: Partner with senior leaders in Global Operations to develop and execute an enterprise-wide communications plan that aligns with organizational goals and amplifies the Operations strategy. Includes internal and external communications, crisis communications, and support for a robust calendar of operational meetings and events. 

  • Frontline Engagement: Design and implement innovative strategies to reach and engage Carrier’s global operations workforce, with a focus on frontline employees. Lead global employee engagement campaigns that drive awareness and alignment with the Operations strategy and transformation initiatives. 

  • Executive Messaging and Content Creation: Develop impactful executive messaging and deliverables such as leadership messages, video content, talking points, and more. Maintain an executive messaging editorial calendar to ensure a consistent cadence of communication that balances business priorities. 

  • Thought Leadership: Identify opportunities to enhance Carrier’s leadership in areas such as innovation and operational efficiency and aligning with the broader corporate communications thought leadership program. 

  • Event Leadership: Drive the development and execution of livestreamed Global Town Hall events for 20,000+ employees, ensuring a seamless and engaging experience. 

  • Global Collaboration: Build strong professional relationships to ensure authenticity in communications and alignment with corporate and regional teams. Provide guidance and support for global and multinational audiences. 

  • Creative Services Oversight: Coordinate the use of creative services, including graphic design, video production, and photography, to support communications needs. 

Required Qualifications 

  • 15+ years of communications experience with a Bachelor’s degree OR 12+ years of communications experience with a Masters’ degree

  • Travel Required 20%

Preferred Experience

  • MBA

  • Global or multinational experience

  • Proven success as a strategic thought partner to executive leadership teams. 

  • Experience managing communications for urgent, short-deadline projects and the flexibility to work after hours when necessary. 

  • A results-driven, bias-for-action mindset. 

  • Demonstrated experience engaging and empowering frontline employees through innovative communication strategies. 

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to simplify complex issues. 

  • Strong executive presence, exceptional listening skills, and the ability to anticipate needs and prepare accordingly. 

  • Expertise in managing large-scale events, including livestreamed global town halls. 

  • Strong project management skills with a high level of organization and attention to detail. 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft SharePoint, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Adobe Creative Suite, as well as LinkedIn. 

  • A self-starter with the ability to work independently and deliver high-impact results while managing competing priorities.
