This is a second-shift position, scheduled from 4:30 p.m. to 1:00 a.m., with mandatory overtime on some weekends.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performs layout and fits up work using fixtures or positioners.

  • Welds various metals using Pulsed MIG, Short-arc MIG or Submerged arc processes.

  • Uses MIG welder to assemble fabricated metal products in an efficient manner to maximize production.

  • Operates the equipment in a safe manner and reports hazards associated with the equipment to the supervisor.

  • Produces strong penetrated welds that are smooth, non-porous and consistent.

  • Follows required procedures and uses appropriate jigs and fixtures to assist in the assembly process.

  • Performs a variety of brazing functions encompassing all materials.

  • Performs hand grinding and forming work as needed.

  • Cleans and maintains an orderly work area.

  • Communicates effectively with others.

  • Assists other individuals in area when needed.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • 3+ months of experience in manufacturing assembly with Carrier

  • Capable of climbing ladders or using other lift equipment over 8 feet above grade and capable of lifting items up to 50lbs.

  • Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and precision measuring instruments

  • Must pass an onsite 6G certification test

  • ASME certification required or ability to obtain one

  • Availability to work 2nd shift, including daily overtime and weekends

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of the welding process and equipment

  • Math skills including fractions and angles

  • Ability to weld vertical, flat, and overhead welds with a good penetration and a quality appearance

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
