The Kidde business is a part of the Fire and Security Products group at Carrier. We are dedicated to providing products and technology designed to protect people and property from the effects of fire and its related hazards. As a large manufacturer of fire safety products, Kidde meets the safety needs of homes and businesses by providing fire extinguishers, smoke alarms, carbon monoxide alarms, strobes, and other products.
About this role:
As a member of the supply planning team, this candidate will play an integral part in fulfilling customer demand by effectively managing the relationship with the corresponding suppliers and cross-functional teams within the business. This includes but is not limited to Demand Planning, Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, Logistics, Product Management, and Finance. The candidate should be a motivated individual with strong analytical skills and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic business environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Achieve 98 percent fill rates to customers while adhering to business inventory targets.
- Review/Approve/Reject stock or non-stock purchase orders.
- Document and standardize processes.
- Standardization of Vendor Master workflow and Supplier Catalog processes.
- Work closely with suppliers for quotes, to drive down cost, lead times, and foster an environment of continuous improvement.
- Support internal and external customers.
- Actively drive supplier on-time delivery to 95 percent or higher to support internal product operation.
- Actively work and support suppliers in addressing material shortages or other issues delaying fulfillment of open purchase orders.
- Escalate and leverage business resources accordingly.
- Ensure the business has accurate visibility to delivery dates on open orders from suppliers.
- Maintain planning systems data integrity (pricing, lead times, service levels, delivery dates).
- Ensure receiving discrepancies are addressed in a timely manner in order to avoid delayed payment to suppliers and subsequent interruptions to the business.
- Support compiling data, reporting, and analysis to improve business processes and achieve target customer fulfillment rates.
- Support reporting and presentations to leadership and stakeholders.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 3 + years of experience in material purchasing
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with ARIBA or similar ERP systems.
- Experience with non-stock purchases or relevant background.
- Strong analytical, and data management (compiling data, reporting, and analysis to improve business processes and achieve target customer fulfillment rates).
- Excellent communication skills.
- High proficiency in Power BI, and Microsoft Office, the position requires extensive use of Excel VBA, Python, and data analytics.
- Must have a high level of urgency, and problem-solving techniques, internal and external customer oriented.
