About this position
As an Associate Controls (BAS) Specialist, you will be crucial to ALC’s business through the field commissioning of building automation systems created specifically for each individual customer. We are looking for a team member who is self-motivated, detail oriented, and is customer focused. This position is your first introduction into the career of a Controls Specialist. You will begin to complete assignments using troubleshooting skills, projects will advance in difficulty to develop your skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Initiate, install, troubleshoot, and optimize customer systems that utilize advanced Direct Digital Control technology.
- Offer effective solutions for system issues.
- Provide turnkey project delivery on small to mid-level projects.
- Responsible for ensuring that systems operate properly, to include controls, sensors, and software.
- Load software, configure trends, alarms, and reports.
- Implement time management strategies to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Communicate and document the status and details of the project for the customer.
- Provide site-specific training to owners/operators on the complete system.
Basic Qualifications:
- College Diploma or Technical Certificate in one of the following: Electrical, Mechanical, Electro-Mechanical, Engineering, Building Automation Systems, or HVAC.
- 1+ year experience in the Building Automation field.
- 1+ year experience using BAS software (such as but not limited to: ALC WebCTRL, Honeywell EBI, JCI Metasys, etc.)
- 1+ year experience at a proficient level with Microsoft Excel, Word.
- Capable of climbing ladders or using other lift equipment over 8 feet above grade and capable of lifting items up to 50lbs.
- Valid and current (G) Driver’s License and can be insurable by the company’s insurance.
Preferred Qualifications (assets):
- Bachelor’s degree of science.
- Experience in HVAC controls.
- Experience installing building automation controls.
- Working knowledge of TCP/IP networks including wireless technology.
- Basic network & windows troubleshooting and system configuration tasks.
- Ability to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
