About this role

The Fabrication Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and managing the production floor and a team of hourly 

employees, ensuring that production goals are met while maintaining safety, quality, and efficiency standards. This role requires a hands-on approach to leadership, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to foster a positive and productive work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To lead a group of hourly employees to achieve all required metrics, and attainment goals.

  • Supervising a large group of hourly employees, average range consists of 45 to 120 employees.

  • Work with supporting departments to achieve one goal.

  • Supervise and support hourly/direct employees.

  • Set day-to-day activities.

  • Assist monitoring production operators.

  • Ensures all quality related items for one cell are complete and documented to meet established quality standards.

  • Assists in cost reduction and process improvement to ensure efficiency of operations and cost effectiveness.

  • Assists in scheduling for one cell so that production schedules are met.

  • Assists in sequencing of work, such as build and delivery, for a cell to optimize productivity.

  • Coordinates activities for materials and logistics problem resolution of a cell to ensure availability of materials and smooth operations.

  • Monitors cell performance and productivity of a cell to maximize productivity.

  • Assists in production innovation, including additive manufacturing, of a cell to enhance the cell's production capabilities.

  • Interfaces with customers to understand customer needs and issues and ensure that the customers receive satisfactory standards of services.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED with 5+ years of experience in a Fabrication environment 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree with 3+ years of experience in leading teams is preferred.

  • Effective Communication: Clearly communicate with team members at all levels.

  • Lead and manage change effectively.

  • Team Engagement and Motivation. 

  • Understands basic management approaches such as work scheduling, prioritizing, coaching and process execution is preferred.

  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality control, and safety regulations. 

  • Continuous improvement methods and tools (PDCA, Kaizen, Value Stream map).

  • ERP Systems, Microsoft suite, Timekeeping software.

  • Problem Solving Mindset - analyze information and proactively look for solution.
