Job Summary

The Senior Manager of Security Engineering will play a pivotal role in driving the strategic initiatives and operational effectiveness of the Security Engineering team. This role will head our Security Engineering efforts, focusing on strategy, people/process/technology effectiveness, communications, budget management, and cross functional partnering & engagement. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cybersecurity, excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to lead highly technical security teams. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop Security Strategy working with the Cybersecurity Leadership Team to accomplish security engineering goals that align with business objectives and risk tolerance.

  • Directly lead the Security Engineering team and collaborate with other Engineering teams to implement, maintain, and improve our security controls infrastructure.

  • Own, lead, and improve security engineering programs such as Cloud, Endpoint, Email, Compute, Configuration Management, Data, Network, Application, Logging/Monitoring, etc.

  • Manage a team of highly skilled security engineers in the management of security platforms such as EDR, Email Protection, CSPM, CNAPP, NGFW, IDS/IPS, SIEM, SAST, DAST, CEIM, WAF, Vulnerability Scanners, etc.

  • Own, evaluate, and improve team mission, programs of responsibility, and operational effectiveness.

  • Ensure vendors are performing their roles and meeting their obligations and our expectations in delivering information security services.

  • Define and implement security solutions for new and challenging problems.

  • Monitor changes in the information risk landscape and overall technology trends. Develop and propose technical roadmaps for Enterprise Risk mitigation. Develop and promote cybersecurity across the global organization.

  • Drive the adoption of security best practices and technologies across the organization to enhance the overall security posture.

Basic Qualifications

  • University Degree with 8+ years experience in cybersecurity, information technology, software development and/or engineering, OR Advanced Degree with 5+ years experience in information technology, cybersecurity, software development and/or engineering, OR Highschool diploma / GED with 8+ years of relevant military cybersecurity training & leadership experience in lieu of degree.

  • 8+ years expertise in multiple security engineering domains such as Cloud, Endpoint, Email, Compute, Configuration Management, Data, Network, Application, Logging/Monitoring, etc.

  • 5+ years experience leading technical teams.

  • 3+ years experience with budget management, vendor management, technology/tools evaluations, and cost optimization strategies. 

  • 3+ years in Agile framework and project management, and/or continuous improvement methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong cybersecurity leadership with experience leading global, multi-cultural teams.

  • Demonstrable experience driving strategic cybersecurity change.

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

  • Industry recognized cybersecurity certifications such as: CISSP, Security+, SANS GIAC certifications, etc.
