PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
We are seeking a Field Services Engineer who has successful experience resolving technical problems with customers in a timely and proficient manner during the execution of work. This role will have the ability to troubleshoot, repair or replace needed devices or systems on site as well as assist with initial commissioning and start-up services. All of this to be done with a keen eye toward superior customer experiences and the ability to assist with training customers on functions and device/system operation. This role would have a focus both domestically and globally and interface with internal technical support functions and sales.
The role would also provide consultation or guidance on technical services for current internal, external, or potential customers. It will work closely with global counterparts in the field organization to maintain consistent development and delivery of technical services, products, or training activities. The role will also help to support the development of product documentation in support of instalation or servicing of Det-Tronics products.
In this role, you will use your technical and problem-solving skills, strong analytical and logical thinking capabilities, and excellent communication skills to grow services and support company products, systems & services.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Travel to customer sites worldwide for commissioning and service assignments
Conduct field surveys on sites eligible for upgrades and report essential findings
Troubleshoot, repair, or replace defective equipment supported by Det-tronics
Educate and train customers on replacing consumables, basic troubleshooting skills, and easy fixes
Provide excellent customer service, listen to customer concerns, and address issues until the customer is satisfied
Report “Safety concerns”
Update and maintain assigned systems per company specifications
Suggest parts inventory and maintenance tools for customers
Attend ongoing training events held by the company to stay up to date on the latest technology and repair options
Develop and maintain a strong relationship with customers by reinforcing quality and continuous innovation and improvements
Required Qualifications:
HS Diploma or GED
3+ years’ experience in field service work
3+ years in a customer-facing role
3+ years’ experience in automation or electrical engineering
Ability to travel 80%, global & domestic based on business needs
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor or equivalent in electrical/automation engineering
Ability to work independently worldwide, taking responsibility for own safety
Oil & Gas industry experience
F&G knowledge/certification of training
Good communication and customer service skills, passion for continuous improvement
HSE health check to pass for Offshore work
Understanding of tools and technology needed to complete work assignments
Strong technical and logical thinking skills along with thorough judgment to make decisions
Strong working knowledge of AC/DC circuits, analog and digital electronics, digital communication protocols, process safety/control, fire systems
Ability to build relationships internally and externally
Ability to lift 50 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation
Understanding of industrial fire protection/suppression and flammable/toxic gas detection systems used in petrochemical, oil, and gas production facilities
