Role Purpose
The Repair Maintenance Engineering Intern will help bridge the gap between hands-on facility work and the organizational processes that make maintenance run smoothly. This role provides practical experience in scheduling, creating standard work documentation, and learning the foundations of equipment repair and facility management. The intern will gain exposure to both operational and administrative aspects of maintenance, contributing to overall efficiency and reliability of organizational assets.
Role and Responsibilities
Assist the maintenance team with hands-on repairs, inspections, and upkeep of facility equipment, infrastructure, and systems.
Participate in the development and documentation of standard work procedures for common maintenance tasks.
Support scheduling of preventive and corrective maintenance activities, helping coordinate work orders and timelines.
Help maintain organized records related to maintenance schedules, standard operating procedures, and task completion.
Respond to maintenance requests from staff and report any issues or malfunctions to supervisors.
Work directly with senior technicians to learn and apply practical maintenance skills and industry best practices.
Ensure work areas are clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards.
Participate in training sessions and team meetings to enhance technical skills, safety awareness, and process improvement.
Perform other related duties as assigned by the maintenance supervisor.
Basic Qualifications
Must be currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Industrial Systems technology, Industrial Maintenance, Engineering technology or Mechanical Engineering.
Must have an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship
Must be able to perform manual tasks, including lifting, standing, and bending, alongside desk-based scheduling and documentation work.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred hands-on experience.
Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical systems is preferred; organizational skills and interest in process improvement are a plus.
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions, as well as to draft and update documents and schedules.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Willingness to learn, take initiative, and balance hands-on work with planning and organizing responsibilities
