About This Role
This position supervises a team of technical / business support and/or production / maintenance employees in Materials & Logistics and sets day-to-day activities involving storing and shipping products. Conducts inventory control and prepares reports and manuals.
Job Description
Manage warehouse inventory and keep records of the inventory
Complete daily safety inspections
Monitor yard trailer movement and radio communication
Support continuous improvement efforts and recommend measures to improve production
Ensure compliance with standard operating procedures and safety rules and regulations
Effectively manage hourly associates and achieve employee engagement objectives
Use Cx tools to improve production processes and correct deficiencies as they occur
Ensure EH&S standards and administrative procedures are followed
Must be able to work all shifts in a 24-hour operation with weekend overtime as required
Lead with Integrity: Build trust through transparent communication, fairness, and ethical decision-making.
Coach and Develop: Use a coaching approach to guide team members, encourage idea-sharing, and foster continuous improvement.
Daily Engagement: Conduct shift huddles and one-on-one check-ins to maintain strong connections and empower employees to improve efficiency.
Safety Leadership: Ensure compliance with all safety standards and proactively address hazards. Promote a culture where safety is non-negotiable and integrated into daily routines.
Union Collaboration: Partner constructively with union representatives to maintain positive labor relations and resolve issues respectfully.
Performance Management: Monitor KPIs tied to engagement, safety, and productivity; implement action plans based on team feedback and Pulse survey insights.
Required Qualifications
Highschool Diploma or GED
3+ years of experience managing or supervising in a warehousing or production facility
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelors Degree
Experience motivating, coaching and leading hourly associates, preferably in a union environment
Proven leadership abilities that drive results with a sense of urgency
Supervisory experience in materials workforce or shipping/receiving operations with proven leadership skills and experience
Result oriented with ability to multitask and handle deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Knowledge in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles
Demonstrate sound leadership skills with a sense of urgency to obtain results
Ability to effectively work cross functionally with various groups including Materials, Quality, Purchasing, Engineering, Logistics Center, Finance, HR, EH&S, etc.
Proficient in the use of PC and software applications
