About this role 

This position is for an experienced Materials Planning and Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP) professional dedicated to our Aftermarket segment. You will be responsible for the supply and demand planning process, making improvements to systems and processes to enhance the performance of the work area and team. You will collaborate with internal teams to develop financial forecasts, optimize the utilization of business resources, and ensure customer delivery expectations for replacement parts and accessories are met. 

This person will work onsite 7 days per week in Syracuse, NY 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Purchasing & Sourcing: Manage the PO placement process and support the buying/sourcing team to ensure parts and accessories are quoted and sourced in a timely manner. 

  • Material Planning & SIOP Strategy: Develop and implement strategies for aftermarket materials planning and SIOP to guarantee timely availability of parts for customer demand. 

  • Supplier Coordination: Collaborate with suppliers to confirm timely delivery of materials and resolve any supply chain issues or delays. 

  • Demand Forecasting: Work with product development, sales, and marketing teams to identify demand streams and develop accurate forecasts based on market trends. 

  • Capacity Planning: Coordinate with manufacturing operations to develop monthly production volume planning using business forecasts, inventory positions, and actual customer orders. 

  • Inventory Management: Monitor and manage inventory levels to optimize stock, reduce excess inventory, and track metrics to drive results and continuous improvement. 

  • Process Improvement: Identify and develop new technologies and standardized processes to improve materials planning capability, sustainability, and reliability. 

  • Reporting & Data Analysis: Analyze material usage trends and prepare regular reports on material status, inventory levels, purchasing activities, and supply chain performance. 

Basic Qualifications 

  • Bachelors degree with a minimum of 5 years years of experience in supply chain Or advanced degree with a minimum of 3 years of experience. 

  • 3+ years specifically in material planning and purchasing. 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management or Business Administration. 

  • Certification in APICS (Association for Supply Chain Management) or similar. 

  • Proficiency in material planning software and ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or JDE. 

  • Experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment, specifically with international sourcing and procurement. 

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of detail orientation. 

  • Excellent English communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills for team collaboration and presentations.
