External Description:

Role Purpose:

The Staff Engineering & Support Technician provides technical support to the Engineering groups within the Transport Refrigeration Business, and is stationed in the Engineering Lab co-located with the OEM Factory. This position is for an individual who possesses excellent computer skills and good hands-on work experience. The technician will need to understand and perform tasks from written and verbal requirements; setup computers, instrumentation, test cells and equipment, and collect data that is useful in evaluating performance.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Must be able to interpret engineering drawings and electrical schematics.

  • Apply skills to perform HVACR testing and troubleshooting on electromechanical equipment with the ability to analyze HVACR performance data to resolve most questions and problems.

  • The Technician must adapt to new procedures, techniques, tools, materials and/or equipment to meet the more complex requirements and functions of the position.

  • This position requires a highly motivated work ethic and the ability to work on multiple projects at the same time while maintaining a clean and safe working environment.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: High School diploma or GED.

  • Certification: Refrigerant Recovery, Brazing/Welding, Metal Fabrication, or Auto/Diesel Mechanics

  • 5+ years of experience working with MS office applications, specifically Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.

  • 5+ years of experience working with Low voltage wiring and troubleshooting.

  • 5+ years of experience working with HVAC systems, electronic/electrical troubleshooting, diesel engines or physics of power.

  • Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the USA. No visa sponsoring available.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Refrigeration or related discipline.

  • Certification in Program Logic Controls, VB programming, or Auto CAD.

  • Experience with fork lift operations.
