About this role

This position is for a Lead Electrician who can work under minimal supervision. The Lead Electrician will provide Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) & Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) support to the HVAC Commercial Engineering team in Syracuse, NY The focus will be to maintain and install electrical equipment for the 35 psychometric test chambers.

This is an onsite role in Syracuse NY, working Monday to Friday from 7 am to 3 pm with voluntary overtime when required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and upgrade electrical equipment and wiring to support LCML test lab efforts
  • Troubleshoot electrical components and controls
  • Coordinate maintenance and repairs with lab technicians, engineers and management to minimize testing downtime
  • Modify equipment as needed for unique test applications
  • Moderate to complex electrical troubleshooting & problem-solving
  • Installation of equipment to support psychrometric testing and capital upgrades

Basic Qualifications

  • Associate degree or trade school certificate/diploma
  • 10 years plus of experience in electrical maintenance

Preferred Qualifications

  • HVAC electrical experience
  • Completed Skilled Trades Apprenticeship 
  • AA/AS degree
  • OSHA 10-Hour Construction EH&S Certified
  • Able to lead electrical maintenance efforts and operate independently
  • Coach/mentor other maintenance mechanics on electrical issues
  • Knowledge of electrical power distribution, associated components, low voltage control, ability to read schematics and troubleshooting components
  • Ability to communicate (verbal and written) effectively in English
  • Comply with all EH&S Procedures, knowledge on regulations and compliance
  • Intermediate skills level with Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
  • Able to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Experience utilizing power tools and equipment effectively and safely
