About this role:

Carrier Fire & Security is looking for a passionate and hands-on Director for our newly formed Digital Solutions group. This is a unique opportunity to deploy and grow your skills by creating and building new product offerings in the fire & security domain.  The successful person in this role will have first-hand experience with building & rolling digital solutions, out to market from concept to launch and be able to shape, design and influence the execution path. The job is very dynamic and requires a high-level of adaptability in a quickly changing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Focused on net new revenue-generating, data-driven solutions (0 to 1) that solve for clear customer pain, deliver superior value & are scalable overtime.
  • Responsible for delivery of the product roadmap (prioritized initiatives) & managing the product lifecycle from definition to release.
  • Scope features aligned to prioritized value, define the release plan, business case, GTM aspects and lead execution of product releases. Manage the solution backlog, inclusive of new features, enhancements, tech enablement, integration, defects & its sustainability.
  • Understand the vision and strategic intent of the solution, empathize with customer needs and pain points, iterate on concepts, possible alternatives while innovating for new technologies.
  • Collaborate with development and design teams to create a solution, understand, and suggest tradeoffs for scope, attend/organize sprints, user testing, drive customer POCs & demos as well as collect & process feedback.
  • Drive definition of the user personas in collaboration with the design team.
  • Execute on strategic objectives as prioritized by the Solutions leader.
  • Scope releases to continuously deliver greater value, identify success metrics, report progress and track follow-through of actions through milestones. C
  • Create proper solution (digital) documentation, including features, story points, burn rate, team velocity and on-boarding kits.
  • Lead scrum ceremonies sprint planning, retrospectives, daily stand-ups, release planning
  • Work with design and development team to create quick concepts and wireframes. Iterate as required.
  • Own the timeline for execution and establish key milestones.  Report on the development progress, risks and issues. Collaborate with tech & BU teams to manage schedules.
  • Coordinate across multiple teams and different disciplines to ensure accurate and quality feature delivery; identify and remove cross-team dependencies / roadblocks.
  • Create and communicate release notes along with PRFAQs, marketing inputs & solution infographics.
  • Support solution training for sales, service teams & GTM partners. Be curious, adaptable and willing to learn new things fast.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, Statistics or Product Management.
  • Agile or SAFe certification
  • 8+ years of experience as a software product manager and/or product owner
  • 8+ years experience working with multinational, globally distributed development matrixed teams

  • Someone who can immerse in detail, when necessary, but maintain strategic perspective as well.
  • Solid foundation in quantitative and qualitative research methods incl. building business cases
  • Ability to work positively with the wide range of individuals and stakeholders The ability to find innovative ways to resolve problems.
  • Relationship Building: Proven track record of building trusted relationships with Digital and Business management across product lines. Experience in managing various stakeholder relationships to get consensus & continuous progress.
  • Problem Solving: Ability to solve problems using analytical thinking, reconciling viewpoints, evaluating technologies, and leveraging key relationships.
  • Communication: Demonstrated ability to explain complex technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiences. Presentation skills with a high degree of comfort with both large and small audiences (Senior Executives, Digital management, Functional leaders as well as DevOps teams).
  • Travel: Ability to Travel 25% domestic & international
  • 3+ years of proven, hands-on experience in Agile methodologies in a working environment – demand prioritization, planning, and execution to deliver software solutions.
  • 2+ years of experience with Scaled Agile framework (SAFe) and Scrum methodologies
  • 1+ years of experience working on 0 to 1 products
