About This Role
As an established Mechanical Engineer you will be conducting product development activities and studies, executes and analyzes tests, and produces parts, designs, or sketches, following all appropriate Mechanical Engineering design, safety, and qualification standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for a sub-project of a major new product development program
- Provide expertise in heat transfer, thermodynamics, fan systems, and thermal management system analysis in the development of next generation high efficiency and environmentally friendly HVAC&R and electronic control systems.
- Assist and support actions to improve engineering group in the areas of time to market, reliability improvement, and cost reduction of existing products.
- Document process improvements as part of standard engineering work.
- Identification of reliable and cost-effective purchased components required for new product development projects.
- Develop and execute qualification plans for refrigeration system and components.
- Provide reliability analysis of components and systems.
- Develop and coordinate engineering documents and release.
- Provide daily direction to supporting Designers & Technicians.
- Interface with manufacturing personnel to ensure design meets operations team requirements.
- Prepare presentations for Qualification Review Boards including demonstrating the use of Quality System deployment tools.
- Collaborate with team members from Marketing, Design Engineering, and Manufacturing Engineering.
- Occasional travel to Mexico manufacturing site to observe and provide input relative to equipment builds.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
- 2+ years of mechanical or electrical engineering experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with building communications and controls, with key focus on the HVAC side.
- Experience or familiarity with various HVAC applications.
- Hands-on experience working in an Engineering design environment.
