SCOPE OF JOB

Make, modify and maintain tools and dies to produce company products.

TYPICAL DUTIES

• Make, repair, modify and/or construct dies, gauges, fixtures, or tools to precise tolerances using machines, lathes drills, grinders, welding and brazing equipment and bench work, using complicated blueprints and specifications, shop math and handbook formulas.
• Check equipment and notify Supervisor of situations requiring corrective action.
• Keep accurate and legible records
• Use specified safety equipment and practices.
• Assist less qualified Tool Room personnel with tooling procedures.
• Keep equipment and working areas clean and in good order.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Understand and follow written and/or verbal instructions.
• Lift, move and position materials, use tools, equipment, etc. quickly and effectively.
• Read and interpret complicated blueprints and specifications.
• Have sound knowledge of precision machining techniques, mechanical applications, etc.
• Possess comprehensive set of craft tools and ability to use them proficiently.
• Must be able to use shop mathematics and handbook formulas.
• Training required: Blueprint, Crane Operator, ACE Overview
