External Description:

Carrier is a leading provider of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems, building controls and automation, and fire and security systems leading to safer, smarter, sustainable, and high-performance buildings.

This position manages a large team of both experienced professionals and team leaders across functions while managing medium to large-sized programs or multiple small programs. Monitors strategic planning efforts, presents progress reports and value-stream strategy, recommends solutions for program problems, manage the P&L of programs and multiple vendors, and supports contract negotiation.

As a Project Manager, you will lead multiple projects of varying complexity. Leading projects to define scope and schedule while focusing on regular and timely delivery of value; organizing and leading project status and working meetings; preparing and distributing progress reports; managing risks and issues; correcting deviations from plans; and performing delivery planning for assigned projects.

Responsible for coordinating corporate goals and objectives with the key stakeholders and managing all actionable tasks, appropriately and in a timely matter.

The Program Manager will be expected to blend traditional project management principles and practices with an agile development approach in the right proportions to fit the projects.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Being part of the PMO, responsible for all aspects of the development and implementation of assigned projects and being able to own and coordinate those projects.
  • Facilitate PMO Focus on three Key Performance Indicators: On-time Delivery, Quality, and Efficiency.
  • Demonstrate broad knowledge of Project Management Skills.
  • Coordination of Roadmap prediction and feedback process: Work with stakeholders to maintain and iterate on a roadmap.
  • Coordinate discussions for the prioritized backlog of work items and projects with key stakeholders, guiding them in adjusting priorities based on business needs.
  • Booking and coordination for tech talks which are scheduled on a monthly basis.
  • Coordinate meetings for the product funnel process.
  • Process Management and Improvement – contribute to ongoing process improvement initiatives to implement best practices for Software development.
  • Plan and implement active projects.
  • Performs the overall day-to-day management of multiple projects to ensure that project objectives are achieved within time/cost/quality constraints
  • Responsible for project documentation including project plan and weekly status reports.
  • Reports project progress on a regular basis to ensure the project’s overall direction and integrity.
  • Performs management of the risks of the project, including the development of contingency plans.
  • Manage project scope and change control and escalate issues where necessary.
  • Ensure project objectives are understood and met, ensuring that the Project Team members understand the requirements.
  • Ensure all groups are adequately consulted and are satisfied with each deliverable as it affects their specialist area.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 5 + years of experience in successfully implementing software or web development projects using Continuous Delivery and Agile methodologies in a high-tech development environment with multi-function teams.
  • 5 + years of experience with PMO tools (e.g., Project Scheduling Tools, Resource Planning, Risk Registers)
  • 5 + years of experience with software development life cycle (SDLC) models as well as good working knowledge of both Agile and traditional project management principles and practices

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Certification such as PMP
  • Agile certifications such as SAFe, PMI-ACP, CSM, CPO
  • Solid leadership skills Extremely organized Comfortable speaking/presenting to Executive and Senior Leadership.
  • Adept user of Microsoft Office Tools such as Excel, Word, Visio
  • Excellent analytical and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent listening, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to conduct research into systems issues and products as required.
  • Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language.
  • Highly self-motivated and directed.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
